Terms of Service

By using the Shog.io website or mobile app (together, the “Service”) you agree to these terms. If you disagree with any part, please do not use the Service.

Acceptable use

• Play fair. Do not use external engines or assistance in rated games.
• Do not harass other users, including through display names.
• Do not attempt to disrupt the Service, reverse-engineer it, or abuse the matchmaking queue.
• Do not create multiple accounts to manipulate ratings.

We may suspend or terminate access for behavior that breaks these rules.

Your account & content

You are responsible for your display name, country selection, and any other content you add. You can delete your account at any time (Profile screen on mobile, or email support on web).

Service availability

The Service is provided “as is”. We aim for high uptime but do not guarantee it. Matches, ratings, and analysis depend on our hosting providers and may occasionally be interrupted.

Intellectual property

The Shog.io name, logo, and interface are ours. The open-source components we build on (including shogiops and Fairy Stockfish) remain under their respective licenses.

Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Shog.io is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be dated above and surfaced in-app or on the homepage.
